2015 will bring us many tantalizing new horror features, but none as oddly intriguing as Zombeavers. Set for a March 20th U.S. release, this horror-comedy directed by Jordan Rubin follows a group of college kids menaced by a swarm of deadly zombie beavers as they struggle to survive in a riverside cabin in the woods. The Zombeavers trailer is now available and it is exciting!
Many films have featured zombified dogs, cats, and even chickens (Poultrygeist, anyone?), but the beaver has been mysteriously absent from pop-culture zombie references. Thankfully we now have a film that rights this horrific oversight.
The Zombeavers trailer shows the campy thrills awaiting viewers and a few clever lines of dialogue – my favorite being, “We can’t turn against each other. That’s what the beavers want!” Practical effects and a ridiculous premise all combine to make this a must-see horror-comedy for 2015. Let’s hope that it lives up to the fun the trailer depicts.
