Although I have a lot of nostalgia around this series, it is a little tough to re-watch as an adult. I love the weird and quirky world-building, but atheist characters are just a bit too randomly zany for me.

I absolutely love Junji Ito, though I've never really gotten into the Tomie stories. I'm in the minority on this, but I really loved both series that adapted his short stories, and Uzumaki was still amazing despite some less-than-superb animation sequences in episodes 2-4. (Honesty, with all the hate online for that one, I thought that it would switch to stick figures or something, but even my animator roommate couldn't understand the intense hatred of those episodes).

If you haven't read any of Junji Ito's manga, I highly recommend it.
