“Sloven” Short Film

Sloven is a short horror film directed by Marc Cartwright and starring Baker Chase Powell that was included in the 2016 ScareLA Screening Room line-up in the “Halloween Tricks” short film.

Living with roommates can be tough – they can touch your things, mess up the apartment, and generally make your life a living nightmare. The protagonist of this short comes home one Halloween night to find that his roommate has left the apartment particularly messy – or could something more sinister be afoot?

This short film is concise and wonderfully twists a common plight into something fantastic. I particularly love the Halloween costume mask used – it is certainly a memorable and creepy piece. After watching the film, my roommates and I agreed to never leave costumes strewn about the apartment.
