Have you ever had a free afternoon so you decided to take some spooky photos with your roommate? I am very fortunate to have a friend who takes time out of her schedule to indulge in creative endeavors on a whim. Here is our creepy candle photo shoot from earlier this year. The theme was candlelight and urban legend games like “Bloody Mary”. We wanted to make a few fun images for Instagram, and here are the results!

Ghost in the Mirror
We used the candlelight for a primary lighting source and a small LED light to make things a little more visible. In the last image, I placed a blue LED light in the shower for contract to the warm glow of the candle. The “ghost” was a skeleton prop that we shot solo and then super-imposed on the image in post.Â
All images were shot on my Samsung Flip 6. I’m saving up for a new Canon camera, but these were just fun shots to flex our creativity on a lazy afternoon. I am, however, very happy with how they turned out!
