Mr. Moonshine is a alternative rock band from Long Beach California whose music perfectly captures the strange and bizarre. Comprised of brothers Anthony Pedroza (vocals, bass, guitar) and Andrew Pedroza (vocals, synth), Daysmel Muniz (guitar), and Ternell Cooksey (drums), this band has an alluring sound that is sure to entertain those who enjoy dark and enchanting melodies.
“Comfort Me With Absinthe” is one of the A-tracks from their debut self-titled album. Its sound is flirtatious, theatrical, and darkly sensual.
Its theatrical nature is highlighted in the music video with animation from artist Michelle Prebich (Bats in Your Belfry). In this video she uses cutouts to create a beautiful stop-motion piece. Her use of sand as the magical absinthe is an ingenious touch that adds whimsy and fantasy to the piece.
